This is my first blog post. I made this as a place I can go and ramble since I know it can get out of hand on Facebook. ;) Here I will talk about my two passions, photography and radiography. Feel free to follow me on my journey as I search for a Rad Tech job and as I continue to try out new photography techniques and make people happy.
I graduated from college this past May with a degree in Radiologic Technology. I tested right after graduation and received both my ARRT license and my Texas Health Rad Tech license. Now if I can only find a job! The job market is flooded with Rad Techs so it's going to be a big task. Fellow classmates are also having trouble finding jobs or there are the few lucky ones who got hired by their Spring semester clinical sites. Unfortunately, my clinical site isn't hiring, even though I have worked at the same hospital for 4 years now! I keep telling myself that now is the time to spread my wings and overcome my fear of change. I've been applying to open jobs all across the state of Texas. I have to put my faith into Someone greater and remind myself that if it's meant for me to move away from the DFW area, then it will happen. What a scary thought!
I've been slowly trying out different types of photography other than portraits. I've been doing portraits for 6 years now! I still love the simple job of portraits tho. :) Photography doesn't feel like work to me. Same goes for Radiology. I don't charge enough money. I always feel like I'm getting paid to have fun. Last night I stayed up late playing around in PhotoshopCS3 and tried to create the "scotch tape" effect to make it look like a photo is being held up by simple tape. Enjoy the attached photo. It is my first attempt at tape and I'm sure it can only get better from there! :) *Note: the photos used in the photostrip are also photos I have taken myself.*
